Fuel Life is excited to announce our next virtual cooking class series. This time we will be taking a journey each week to create desserts from all around the world. Professional Chef, Rajesh Narine (Cartems Donuts) will be spicing up our living rooms with cuisines including: French, Caribbean and Swedish. Registered nurse, Sasha Voznyuk and Holistic Nutritionist Mikkie Nettles will be co-hosting to provide education and discuss the science of nutrition.

Rajesh Narine

Rajesh "Rags" Narine is a chef who loves to create! Rags is the creator of the recipes of Cartems Donuts, an iconic independant chain in Vancouver whose flavours are renowned for being innovative and tantalizing. Rags has a bevy of experience in the industry, and has made both savory and sweet concoctions to much fanfare. Learning from some of the best chefs in Vancouver, he has applied his knowledge to create food experiences for many, and is excited to create even more!

Sasha Voznyuk

Sasha is a Registered Nurse who is fascinated by nutrition, biochemistry, physiology, and neuroscience. Her pursuits of education and experience in the healthcare field have given her a deep appreciation for how nutrition can impact patients. Whether it be disease, chronic conditions, brain optimization, Sasha has a passion for passing on her knowledge and compassionate listening to her patients and those she works with.

Mikkie Nettles

Mikkie Nettles is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and a mother of 4. She knows the importance of bringing nutritious healthy foods to the table that everyone enjoys. Informing you on what foods carry benefits to your health from foods and spices that carry pre & probiotics, enzymes, phytonutrients, are anti-inflammatory, metabolic boosters, have high antioxidant qualities to getting in enough fiber. Also explaining different dishes, in how to make sure you have a full protein (amino acid) profile, healthy fats and low glycemic carbohydrates. The importance of the balance in these important macronutrients and in what ratio’s. Understanding what can spike blood sugar levels, hypertension or what foods could cause blockage in your arteries.

Holistic Nutritionist & Personal Trainer

Jeanette Moratillo

Hi, my name is Jeanette, I am a certified group fitness Instructor with a lot of passion for fitness and health. And that passion led me to a new path, teaching Pilates. I began teaching in the fitness industry at the beginning of 2012 lots of strength training classes, indoor cycling, and aquatic programs. I was also a bikini contest competitor early 2018.I know, what you are thinking, “what does this skinny lady know about trying to lose weight?” She doesn’t know what struggle I have been through!”Seriously, though, I get it, and you are not the only person to think that. Admittedly, I have had my own struggles. I struggled with binge eating episodes, my ups and downs with my weight. But I was determined to break that "YOYO" cycle, and my mindset, broke that barrier for me.  I believe that fitness should be part of any balance lifestyle and is important for all ages, abilities and walks of life. Does not matter how long it takes, eventually you will answer your "why".
